Mosquitoes are most active at times of lowest sunlight, dusk and dawn. They like to hang out in shaded areas in the middle of the day. When they’re on the hunt for hosts, they use light to navigate.

What Colors Attract Mosquitoes?
You can repel mosquitoes by wearing brightly colored clothing. Clothes with black, gray, or red colors will make it easier for mosquitoes and other insects to find you. This is because dark clothes trap heat in your body, resulting in more output of your natural scent. Wearing white and khaki-colored clothing, on the other hand, will allow your body heat to escape properly. They will also keep you cooler in the summer by reflecting sunlight away.
Can You Repel Mosquitoes Using Light?
While light can help repel some types of mosquitoes, light in general neither deters nor attracts mosquitoes inherently. Mosquitoes simply use light sources to travel, and foreign light sources can throw them off course.
